Sunday Collection: The Collection came to £1625.   The Development Collection came to £596. Thanks as always for your great generosity.   The will be a Development Collection taken up next Sunday 8th November.

 

Today is All Saints: As we celebrate the feast of All Saints, we join with the heavenly choir and celebrate the victory of God. We give thanks to God for the lives of men and women of every age and nation.

Indulgences:From 12nooon on the 1st Nov until midnight on the 2nd Nov, all who have confessed, received Holy Communion and prayed for the Pope’s intentions (one Our Father & Hail Mary, or any other prayer of one’s choice) can gain one plenary indulgence by visiting a church or oratory, and recite one Our Father and the Apostle’s Creed. This indulgence is applicable only to the souls departed. Confession may be made at any time within the week preceding or the week following 1st November.

Holy Communion can be received on any day from 1st Nov to the 8th Nov. The faithful who visit a cemetery and pray for the dead may also gain a plenary indulgence.

 

All Souls Day - 2nd November.Masses are 12.30pm – Augustine & 8pm – Brian. We also have extra confessional duty on Monday 2nd between 2 – 5pm.  

Mon 2nd is Bereavement Night at 8pm.The Mass is for all bereaved people, not just recently bereaved. Please tell all your friends who are bereaved to come along on the night. Fr Brian will be the celebrant. It will be a Service to remember all those who have died during the past year but most of all, those who mourn their passing. It is also for those who would like to remember the dead from years past. We would like you to bring a memoriam card or a small photograph to the ceremony to form part of the reflection on the night.

Please return your November Dead List this week. The enrolled names will be placed on the Altar during November and remembered at every Mass offered in The Graan during the month of November.

The Graan Dinner Dance - Friday November the 27th November at the Killyhelvin Hotel with Johnny Brady and his band The Dinner Dance tickets cost £30.00 each and are available at reception today. It will be on a first come first served basis and it is not possible to reserve Dinner Dance tickets. It’s “Sale” only. Refunds will not be possible after November 20th.

Our Raffle tickets are available at the porch doors also. Please take a book or two to sell to your friends.  

Ticket Selling: We will be selling at Dunnes 19th, 20th & 21st   Nov.    TESCO – 18th & 19th Nov. Leave your name & number at reception if you can help.

Spot Prizes: As always we are looking for spot prizes for the dinner dance. Contact us if you have a Spot Prize and we will collect it or if you can leave it in at the front door of the Monastery with your name and address clearly written on it, we will be most grateful. Every spot prize will be given away on the night.

 

Church Cleaning Group: November’s group will meet on Wednesday 4th Nov at 8.30pm in the church. (E Wilson, M Mc Aloon, F Keenan, A Mc Cauley, M Duffy, & A O’Reilly-Colton M Quinn, K Thompson, T Keane, C & A Mc Cool).

 

Fr Brian’s new book ‘And Catch the Heart off Guard’ is now available. Special introductory price this weekend only £10 or €12.

 

Feasts of the Week: Monday – All Souls. Tues - St Malachy. He was born near Armagh in 1094. He introduced the Cistercians and the Canons Regular into Ireland. He died at Clairvaux in 1148. Fri – All Saints of Ireland..
