THE GRAAN WEEKLY BULLETIN

6th December 2015

Sunday Collection: The Collection came to £1565.   Thanks as always for your great generosity.   There will be a Development Collection taken up after Communion today.              Today is the Second Sunday of Advent.

The Advent Wreath is circular to express the circle of life, beginning with God as creator and ending with God as our final destiny. The circle also represents Christ who came in the past, comes every day through grace, and will come again in final glory. Evergreen leaves show the unfailing love of God and our constant hope. The four outer candles are for the weeks of preparation before lighting the white candle at the centre for the birth of the Saviour.

Year of Mercy: It’s appropriate that the Gospel of Luke, known as the Gospel of Mercy, will be the Gospel throughout this Liturgical Year. Our Novena of Hope (27th Feb – 7th March 2016) will form the centre of our Celebration of Mercy at The Graan. Throughout the year we help people experience God’s mercy in the sacrament of Reconciliation each day. It’s a good time to come back to the Sacrament if you have been away for some time. Choose a priest with whom you can relate and experience, through him, the mercy of God in your life.
