Sunday Collection: Thank you for your continued generosity to The Graan. The collection amounted to £1680. The Development Collection came to £700. The next Development Collection will be on Sunday10th January.     Sincere thanks as always for your generosity. A special word of thanks to the many generous people who left money for the poor over Christmas. It has been distributed already.                    

 

Feast of St Charles of Mount Argus – Tuesday 5th Jan. Mass and Blessing of the Relic of St Charles at 8.00pm which will also be the Vigil Mass for the Feast of the Epiphany on January 6th. All who wish to pray for the sick or other special intentions will be most welcome.

 

St Charles of Mount Argus was born John Andrew Houben on December 11, 1821 in the village of Munstergeleen, Holland. Andrew joined the Passionists at Ere, in Belgium.  He was ordained on December 21 1850 and died in Mount Argus on January 5, 1893. His remains were laid to rest in the cemetery adjoining the Monastery and Church at Mount Argus, but were later re-interred inside the Church at Mount Argus where they still rest. Father Charles was beatified by Pope John Paul II in 1988 and on June 3 2007, he was canonised by Pope Benedict XVI. 

Wednesday is the feast of Epiphany of the Lord.The Feast of the Epiphany of Our Lord Jesus Christ is one of the oldest Christian feasts, though, throughout the centuries, it has celebrated a variety of things. Epiphany comes from a Greek verb meaning "to reveal," and all of the various events celebrated are revelations of Christ to humanity.

It is a Holy Day of Obligation.Masses are at 10.30am – Augustine. 12noon - Victor & 8pm – Augustine.

 

Novena of Hope: From 27th/28th Feb – 7th March 2016. Our first meeting will be on Monday18th Jan @ 8.30pm.

Christmas Crib: Be sure to visit our Graan Crib when you visit our Church. Thanks to all who leave contributions for the poor at the Crib. It will be distributed next week to St Vincent de Paul.

 

Eucharist Ministers: We are looking for new Eucharistic Ministers to assist at all Masses in The Graan. We need at least 12 more. Please leave your name and number at reception today if you would like to become a minister. We will be in contact with you shortly
