Today is the 4th Sunday in Ordinary Time.

Friday is the first Friday of the month. Confessions from 2pm – 5pm.

Monday 1st is St Brigid’s Day. St Brigid’s Crosses on Sale: We have St Brigid Crosses on sale @ £1 each. The money will be donated to St Vincent de Paul. Sincere thanks to Philip Mc Grade for all his hard work for this good cause. Philip has made an incredible 500 crosses for us.

St Brigid: Had a great love for the poor. Legend has it she often gave away her family’s food to those in need. When her father protested she replied, “Christ dwells in every creature.”

There was an old pagan chieftain who was dying. He had never heard of Jesus. The floor of his room was covered with rushes and when Brigid went into the room she took some of the rushes and began to make a cross. She told him about God and his love for us and how his son died on a cross. As a result he converted to the faith and died a happy man. Tradition says that those who have a St Brigid’s cross in their home will be blessed through her prayers with the protection of Christ.
