Today is the Second Sunday in Advent. We light our second candle on the Advent wreath this Sunday, reminding us of the hope the growing light of the coming of Christ brings into our lives and our world.

The Advent Wreath is circular to express the circle of life, beginning with God as creator and ending with God as our final destiny. The circle also represents Christ who came in the past, comes every day through grace, and will come again in final glory. Evergreen leaves show the unfailing love of God and our constant hope. The four outer candles are for the weeks of preparation before lighting the white candle at the centre for the birth of the Saviour.
