Christmas Prayer: Lord, bless us with childhood faith this Christmas. May we recognise you, our God, as a little child born in humble circumstances; and may we be as excited this Christmas as we were when we were children in pyjamas, unable to sleep, and bursting with joy. Give us the spirit of Christmas which is peace; the heart of Christmas which is love; and may our families have gladness and hope in abundance. May we, deep in our souls, jump up in the air, whirl round and bury our heads in a cushion, because the baby is God, our Saviour.
