Safeguarding Children - An Information Session will be held tomorrow Monday 4th June from 7pm – 9pm in our Prayer Room. All staff and volunteers are welcome. Those involved with the altar servers including their parents are particularly encouraged to attend and those Eucharistic Ministers who distribute Communion in the Nursing home.

 

New Altar Servers: This is the time of year when we look for more altar servers. Any boy or girl who has received First Holy Communion and is interested in becoming an Altar Server please pick up a form at reception today with the consent of their parents and guardians.

 

Healing Prayer with anointing with blessed oil and blessing with relics of St Charles & Padre Pio and with Benediction on Thursday next 7th June at 8.30pm in the Prayer Room.

 

Guild Mass Cards: We have a wide selection of cards for Deceased, Mass Bouquets, Get Well, Birthday, Special Occasion, Thinking of You, With Thanks and Exam Mass Bouquets which cost £2 / €2.50 each. We value your support.

Feasts of the Week:
Monday is the feast of St Kevin. He was a native of Leinster and grew up in Kilnamanagh where he received his early religious formation. Wishing to be a hermit, he went to Glendalough and settled there. Gradually the great monastic settlement grew and spread through the glen after his death in 618. Tues – St Boniface. He went as a missionary to Germany. He founded monasteries in Bavaria, including Fulda in 735. Wed – St Jarlath. He was said to have been a disciple of St Enda. He became abbot bishop of the monastery he founded at Tuam in the sixth century. Thurs – St Colman. He is the patron saint of the Diocese of Dromore. Fri – Sacred Heart of Jesus. Understood in the light of the Scriptures, the term ‘Sacred Heart of Jesus’ denotes the entire mystery of Christ. June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart. Sat – St Columba also known as Colum Cille. He was born in Donegal, near Burt. He founded monasteries in Derry, Durrow & Iona. Columba is noted for this great love of people and for all living creatures. He died on June 9th 597.

Exam Prayer: Lord, pour out your Spirit of Wisdom on these students: help them to remain calm, to attend carefully to the questions asked, to think clearly, to remember accurately, and to express themselves well. Grant that they may reflect the best of the work they have done and the best of the teaching they have received. Accept their best efforts in these examinations and in the great test of life on earth. May your love be upon them O Lord, as they place all their trust in you.
