Feasts of the Week: Monday 9th July is the Feast of Our Lady of Holy Hope. Our Blessed Mother’s continual guiding presence marked the beginnings of the Passionist Congregation. Our tradition has it that she made known to our Holy Founder, St. Paul of the Cross, the mission God had assigned to him – that of founding the Passionists. Saint Charles arrived in Mount Argus on this day, 9th July 1857, 161 years ago. Tens of thousands of people have come to The Graan for our Novena in honour of Our Lady of Hope since our first one here in 1990.

Wednesday 11th: St Benedict. The Rule for Religious which he devised has influenced countless men and women who live in community. He is known as the father of monasticism and is the patron of Europe.

Saturday 14th: St Camillus - He spent his life caring for the sick. He is Patron of hospitals, nurses and the sick.

Saturday 15th: St Bonaventure. He was a Franciscan theologian who lived in the 13th century.

PRAYER OF ST CHARLES TO OUR LADY OF HOPE: Most Holy Mary my Mother, I come to you imploring your help. If earthly mothers never forget their children, how can you forget me? I implore your help in all my necessities of life, in every sorrow, and especially in all my temptations. As we are all your children, I ask for your help for all who are now suffering. Help the weak, cure the sick, convert sinners and console all earthly mothers who worry about their children. Open the gates of heaven to those we loved whilst we were here on earth. Having invoked your help on earth, I know we will see you, love you and eternally thank you in heaven. Amen.  Mother of Holy Hope pray for us.
