Easter Sunday – 9th April 2023

Today is Easter Sunday. The Resurrection of Jesus challenges us

  • To open our hearts to the miracle of new life
  • To the wonder of transcendence
  • To the beauty of transformation
  • To not remain stranded in grief

The Resurrection of Jesus invites us

  • To allow Jesus, by His Spirit to do for us, through us and in us, more “than we can ask our imagine” (Ephesians 3:20)
  • It invites us to love again after our love has been rejected
  • It invites us to trust again after our trust has been betrayed
  • It invites us to hope again after our hopes have been shattered
  • It invites us to believe again after our faith has been shaken

The Resurrection of Jesus awakens us

  • To see Divinity in the Ordinary
  • To see endings as new beginnings
  • To the freedom of non-clinging
  • To the awesome wonder of ourselves

The Resurrection of Jesus teaches us

  • To look beyond appearances
  • Like Mary of Magdala to call him “Master” (John 20:17)
  • As Mary had believed she now saw that which she believed.

Happy Easter from all the community at the Graan. May it be a blessed time for you and all the significant people in your lives!

Thank you to all our Readers, Ushers, Ministers of the Eucharist and all who helped during the Holy Week ceremonies. It was a privilege for us also to celebrate the sacrament of Reconciliation with so many people this past week. Thanks also the collection last week. It came to £2220. Your generosity is very much appreciated.
