Thank you also for your generous collection on the final day of our Novena. We appreciated it very much.

Prayer Groups: All Prayer Group meetings are cancelled until further notice.

Graan Abbey Nursing Home; for the foreseeable future, no Mass will be celebrated in the home. Eucharistic Minsters on Sundays will not be distributing communion in the nursing home until future notice.

Novena Thanks: A sincere word of thanks to everyone who attended the Novena and to all our speakers and to all who made it such a blessed event!

Today is the Third Sunday of Lent: Jesus meets the Samaritan woman alone at Jacob’s well in today’s Gospel. Jesus is parched with thirst. His thirst is for the woman’s faith and for our faith. In the first reading Moses by his faith caused water to flow from the rock. Jesus, his Messiah, by his love gave lasting refreshment to the Samaritan woman. Paul tells us in his letter to the Romans, that we have the Spirit, the living water, that sustains us on our pilgrimage through life.

St Patrick’s Day Masses: DUE TO CORONAVIRUS ST PATRICK’S DAY MASSES HAVE BEEN CANCELLED. THE SHOP & MONASTERY WILL BE OPEN UNTIL 12 NOON.

Refurbishing of the Graan Church: There will be a meeting on Monday 30th March concerning the refurbishing of the Graan Church. All those who are interested in this project are invited to an initial meeting in the prayer room after the 8pm Mass. We are proposing to move the seats in the side aisles, so that they will be facing in the direction of the altar. We hope to remove the seats at the back of the altar, and to move the tabernacle to the centre of the sanctuary. We may move the confessional and the sacristy back to its original position. The front entrance of the Church will be reformed. The architect Karl Pederson will be in attendance. This is an important meeting because the church is called the “teach pobal” – the people’s church. It is only right that those who worship here will have an opinion on the proposed changes.

Feasts of the Week: Tuesday: St. Patrick. National Patron of Ireland. Died in 491. It is a Holy day of Obligation. Wednesday: St. Cyril of Jerusalem (315 -386) Bishop of Jerusalem.
