Today is the Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time: We give thanks to God our Father – God wishes us to be the salt and light of the world, so that seeing in us the works of the Spirit, the people may recognise God as their God and give Him glory.

 

Novena of Hope 2020: Takes place from 29th Feb – 9th March 2020.  It begins at the  Vigil Mass (Saturday 29th Feb) and on Sunday 1st March  @ 9am, 10.30am, 12noon and 4pm. Fr Charles Cross will speak at all the Masses.

Monday 2nd March – Sr Susan Mc Grath @ 12.30pm & 7.30pm.

Meeting: The Novena Posters & leaflet distribution will take place tomorrow night Monday 10th February at 8.30pm. Please come along to this meeting and help us to distribute our posters throughout the surrounding areas & counties.

 

Please take a petition leaflet home with you from the Church porches and return them in good time so they can be placed on the altar during the Novena.   

Eucharistic Ministers & Readers: Please return your reply slips for the Novena as soon as possible.

 

Guild Mass Cards: We have a new selection of cards for Deceased, Mass Bouquets, Get Well, Birthday, Special Occasion, Thinking of You & Exam Mass Bouquets which cost £2 / €2.50 each. We also have new St Patrick’s Day Mass Bouquets available.

Thanks to Philip Mc Grade for making us St Brigid’s Crosses. The final total from the sale of St Brigid’s crosses was £500 which was donated to Mary’s Meals, Enniskillen Branch.

 

Feasts of the Weeks: Monday St. Scholastica who died in 543, was a sister of St. Benedict. Tuesday. Our Lady of Lourdes. It is also World Day of Prayer for the Sick. On this day in 1858 Our Lady appeared to 14 year old Bernadette Soubirous at Lourdes, France. Friday: Saints Cyril (826-869) & Methodius (815-885) Preached the Gospel in Moravia using their own translations of the Scriptures. They are the apostles of the Slavic people and Patrons of Europe.

Vocation Retreat: A weekend retreat for young men interested in knowing more about life as a priest or brother in the Passionist Community will be held at the Passionist Monastery, Tobar Mhuire, Crossgar, County Down, beginning on the evening of Friday, 13 March and concluding with lunch on Sunday, 15 March. Anyone interested in taking part should speak to contact Fr Victor at The Graan or contact Father Paul Francis at passionistvocations@gmail.com
